Sketch challenges should be so easy. More than half the work is done for you. Right? All you have to do is stamp it. Color it. Call it done. Yeah, no... not so much. I find them incredibly challenging. Why? I think I feel like I'm too constrained and then I can't think straight. That's a good thing, right? It is. No, really it is. It stretches your mind into ways that you wouldn't otherwise go. EVERY time I do a sketch challenge, I think... OH I have a great idea for this (or something like that) and then I get to it and FIZZLE... NADA... ZIP... And I stare and stare and stare at it. Then I walk away in disgust. Oh, NOT at the sketch, mind you. At me. Pffft.
Then I go back to it and try, try again.
My addict friend, Tracy, has started a sketch challenge on her blog. I thought I'd try it out. It's a great sketch AND I've seen some great results from others. Here is her sketch:
And now, my card. Again... not what I originally started out with. But at least, I did it AND I learned some stuff while trying ;)! Gotta love that. Right?
Pink and black. Seems like they are my go-to colors in a pinch. And I don't even like Pink all that much. But it goes well with black and it makes a statement. KWIM? I thought the 3 party images worked well here... all small enough, all the same theme. They are sparkly... with the Pink and Lemon Spicas.
All images, ribbon, pretty little paper, and note cards by A Muse Artstamps; black CS by SU!; colored with Copic Original Markers
Thanks Tracy for challenging me!
